Progressive Dampening System (PDS)
KYB 48mm / Showa 49mm Fork Upgrade
The Progressive Dampening System (PDS) improves fork control by adding a progressive hydraulic effect inside the fork. The system replaces the OEM spring perch and increases bottoming resistance while keeping the fork comfortable over small bumps.
As fork speed increases, oil flow builds pressure inside the PDS. This creates added mid-stroke support and prevents harsh bottoming during aggressive riding.
Key Features:
• Improves bottoming resistance without harsh spikes in damping
• Adds progressive mid-stroke support for improved front-end control
• Maintains a plush feel over small bumps and chatter
• Works with most existing valving setups and suspension tuning configurations
• Precision-machined aluminum construction with anodized finish
• Laser-etched components for durability and professional fit
How the PDS Works
The PDS controls fork oil through a series of precision ports. During slow fork movement, oil flows freely and the suspension remains comfortable. However, as fork speed increases, more oil is forced through the ports and pressure builds.
This pressure creates a progressive hydraulic effect that increases support deeper in the stroke. As a result, riders gain improved stability, better mid-stroke control, and stronger bottoming resistance.
